Hi! I’m ChaCha
I’m Charity—aka ChaCha. My friends call me either Charity or ChaCha, both are great! In May 2023, a few days before my 49th birthday, and as a recent empty nester, I dramatically shook up my world, selling everything and moving to Bali (baby pics & memorabilia went into storage)! I didn't have a plan for what I refer to as my "2nd Act," but knew that after 16 years of single parenting, 13 years of brutal custody battles, and nearly 20 years as a Realtor, I hit my 49th birthday and realized something had to give. So, I sold it all and moved to Bali—no plan, just a heart ready for change

How It All Started: From Realtor to Reinvented
From Hustling Homes to Finding My Own
These days, I’ve set down my Realtor hat and I’m pouring my energy into LaChaCha.me—a vibrant space where midlife isn’t a crisis, it’s a celebration of this wonderful and unique chapter of life nestled between the struggles of youth and old age. What started as a solo adventure turned into a full-blown mission: to help other women over 40 ditch outdated narratives and embrace this chapter with boldness, style, soul, and a whole lot of joy.
I’m writing a book about midlife reinvention, developing a second book to share the cleanse that helped me finally lose the perimenopause weight I struggled with in my 40s, curating free guides to help you thrive (not just survive), and growing the Celebrate Midlife shop—a collection of tees and accessories made to make you feel seen, sassy, and strong.
As if midlife hadn’t surprised me enough, I fell in love—with an old friend of 20 years—at a mutual friend’s cookbook launch party in October 2024. After being single for over 15 years, I’d genuinely come to believe that a romantic relationship just wasn’t in the cards for me—and I was at peace with that. But one unexpected encounter turned into a second act love story, and now I’m living in Hood River, Oregon, with him and his two amazing daughters.
And while I’ve traveled the world solo, my proudest titles will always be Mom and Grandma. Motherhood shaped me, and becoming a grandmother expanded my heart in ways I never expected. These experiences remind me daily that midlife isn’t about letting go—it’s about holding everything that truly matters just a little closer.
More than anything, I’m passionate about building a community of women who laugh louder, travel bolder, and celebrate harder—and I’ve helped thousands do just that. Because midlife isn’t the end of the story—it’s where the magic begins.
ChaCha Taking on New Midlife Adventures in Bali
Day 1 in Bali I rented a scooter and promptly fell over in the middle of a crazy busy intersection - if you've been to Bali, you know what this means... insanity ensued around me, and even more honking than usual. But I survived relatively unscathed and jumped right back on, starting my journey of a lifetime!
What began as a leap of faith turned into two years of solo travel magic! The original plan was to move to Bali and focus on making shoes (one of my favorite hobbies), but my 3D printer literally blew up the first time I plugged it in. (The answer to the question you may be asking yourself is "Yep, I brought my 3D printer and 2 sewing machines with me to Bali - I'm funny that way!" 😍)
From scooter wipeouts in Bali to sunrise cacao ceremonies and barefoot ecstatic dance in the jungle, every stop along the way unfolded into its own wild, wonderful lesson. I wandered sacred mountain trails in Nepal, danced on salt flats in Bolivia, celebrated my 50th birthday in Japan, and jogged daily along the glittering Mediterranean while living one block from the beach in Barcelona.
I share these stories—and many more—in my LaChaCha.me articles, from navigating solo adventures and sacred spaces to the messy, hilarious, and heartfelt moments that cracked me open in all the right ways. Each destination became a living chapter of healing, self-discovery, and bold midlife reinvention.

Why Midlife Celebration, Not Midlife Crisis
In April 2024, amidst the surreal expanse of the Uyuni Salt Flats, Midlife Celebration was born! You can watch this video of Coen and me debating midlife crisis versus midlife celebration…. I knew in my heart that my midlife, empty-nester choice to sell everything and move to Bali wasn’t a breakdown—it was a bold and brave breakthrough. It was in this magical moment, in this magical Uyuni Salt Flats location, however, that I understood that I needed to share the midlife celebration revelation with the world and help others also live their best mid-lives. That moment flipped my whole mindset and launched everything you see here.

Shaking up my life so dramatically I unknowingly created a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the past 30 years, and contemplate what I want my next 30 years to look like. I started meditating again, drastically curbed drinking alcohol, started fasting, began eating mostly vegan and overall was finally able to kick my toxic sugar habit. The beautiful thing was, it happened organically, without the usual "pain & suffering" we often feel when making dramatic life changes. I created a natural Coconut Watermelon Cleanse that helped me drop 30+ pounds effortlessly, made new friends from around the world, discovered new activities, renewed my love of surfing... and most importantly, I found a new zest for living an authentic and meaningful life that I am excited to share with you, and sincerely hope inspires you to live YOUR best life!!
